Tours Set for HGTV Dream Home
Kiawah Island property will open to the public for four weekends starting later this month.
The HGTV Dream Home 2013 will open for public tours for four weekends starting later this month. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit local schools.
The luxurious Kiawah Island home will be available for tours on February 14-18, February 22-24, March 1-3 and March 8-10. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased online.
The 3,000-square-foot home showcases the latest in building technology, appliances and home furnishings. The cable network is offering the home in a sweepstakes. Participants have the chance to enter online twice daily — once at HGTV.com and again at FrontDoor.com — to win the property.

Proceeds from the tour ticket sales will benefit Communities In Schools, a leading organization dedicated to empowering Charleston-area students to stay in school and achieve in life.
"We are honored to have been chosen ... as the beneficiary of the proceeds from the HGTV Dream Home 2013 tours," said Communities In Schools Executive Director Jane Riley-Gambrell. "Not only is this great exposure for the Lowcountry of South Carolina, it also offers CIS the opportunity to raise awareness regarding the importance of education and receiving a high school diploma."

The Dream Home, the 17th annual such home to be given away by HGTV, is fully furnished with a gourmet kitchen, double-height living room and features the latest in green design. It's valued at $2.2 million. The sweepstakes winner will also receive $500,000 cash.
