Horry County Government: Carolina Forest Boulevard Widening Project: Night Construction Date Change

See the latest announcement from the Horry County Government.

July 6, 2021

Due to the anticipated inclement weather, Carolina Forest Boulevard construction has been canceled for the week of July 6-9, 2021. Construction on the Carolina Forest Boulevard and River Oaks intersection has been rescheduled, weather depending, for Sunday, July 11, 2021, and ending the morning of Friday, July 16, 2021, between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. daily. Motorists should plan an alternate route, if possible, as there will be delays, flagging operations, lane shifts, and detours as necessary to install the remaining traffic signal components, final asphalt surfacing, concrete island, and pavement markings. Extra caution is urged as the construction area will be very congested with workers and equipment during this timeframe; portable light plants will be strategically placed to aid the visibility of motorists as they navigate the work zone. Motorists are reminded to obey all traffic control devices and use extra patience.
