Hurricane Dorian In Myrtle Beach: Civil Emergency Declared
Flooding from Hurricane Dorian continues to disrupt Myrtle Beach, and the state of South Carolina at large.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC — Myrtle Beach Mayor Brenda Bethune isn't taking any risk with the incoming Hurricane Dorian, and already flooding streets of her city — as the elected official signed a declaration of civil emergency Thursday afternoon.
Bethune issued the declaration as more of a precautionary matter, in case the city has to enact a curfew or take other measures to combat the storm if Dorian worsens.
"The Myrtle Beach area is expecting hurricane winds today and tonight as Hurricane Dorian passes by just off shore from the Grand Strand," reads the Declaration. "Storm surge of several feet is expected, along with six-plus inches of rain (more in some locations).
