Hurricane Florence: Free U-Haul Storage At 23 S.C. Locations
U-Haul is offering customers who will be impacted by heavy rains and winds 30 days of free self-storage and U-box container usage.

U-Haul is offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-box container usage in the wake of Hurricane Florence, a dangerous storm that is making its way towards the east coast and will reach the Carolinas by the end of the week. In its latest advisory, the National Hurricane Center said that the storm had weakened to a category 3 hurricane but cautioned that it is still forecast to be "an extremely dangerous major hurricane" when it nears the U.S. coast late Thursday and Friday.
The storage is being offered at 94 locations to residents "who stand to be impacted by the heavy rains and extreme winds" caused by Florence, according to a U-Haul press release. The free storage is available in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Virginia.
“People are preparing to leave their homes, creating an immediate need for secure locations where evacuees can bring the possessions they wish to protect,” Doug Weston, president of U-Haul Company of Western North Carolina, said in a statement. “As a member of these communities, we are in a position to help by providing this service to our friends who are in harm’s way.”
