Arrests Made in Aug. 1 Carjacking
Victim duped into a bogus test drive on car by a woman, then held at gunpoint by another suspect while car is stolen.
Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Armed Robbery Unit have charged and arrested two people in connection with a car jacking incident that occurred on Aug. 1, the GCSO reported Thursday.
The victim reported a few days prior to the incident he met a white female at the Lil Cricket gas station, located at the intersection of Watkins Road and Sulphur Springs Road. The victim stated the female was interested in purchasing his vehicle so they exchanged telephone numbers.Â
He stated on the date of the incident he was contacted by the female about possibly test driving the car. The victim stated he met with the female and rode with her as she test drove his vehicle. The victim stated he noticed a vehicle following them as they were driving around. The female drove to the intersection of Sharon Drive and Melody Lane and stopped.Â

The vehicle following them stopped behind them and a male subject got out of the vehicle and approached him with a handgun. The male subject pointed the gun at him and told him to leave the car with the female.Â
The victim complied and the male and female drove away from the scene in separate vehicles. The victim was not injured during this incident.

Tyler Barron Johnson and Latasha Loren Lee, both of Greenville, have been charged with Criminal Conspiracy and Armed Robbery. Both subjects are being held at the Greenville County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.
