One Reported Dead In West Georgia Road Crash

A person has died in a single-car crash on West Georgia Road in Simpsonville, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol and Greenville County Coroner's Office.

The accident reportedly happened around 4 p.m. Friday on West Georgia Road near Fork Shoals Road.

The victim has been identified as 40-year old William Wrenn, II, of Piedmont. 

Troopers said Wrenn ran his 2003 Toyota two-door off the left side of West Georgia Road and down a ditch before striking a culvert and several trees.

Wrenn, whom the coroner's office said died at the scene from blunt force trauma, was not wearing a seatbelt.
