Looking for something to do this weekend around the Golden Strip area? We've got your guide to fun.

The second annual Golden Strip Relay for Life will be 5-11 p.m. Aug. 9 on Main Street, Fountain Inn. The fundraiser for the American Cancer Society will include food, music and plenty of walking. Call Susan Ruffner at 864-408-9755, Ext. 32.
See the stars Friday night at Roper Mountain Science Center. Planetarium shows are held from 6:30 to 10 p.m. each Friday. Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for children 4 and up, $4 for seniors.
A farmers market is open from 8 a.m. until noon Saturdays through August at the Anglican Church of St George the Martyr, 427 Batesville Road, Simpsonville. Vendors will sell jams, eggs, baked goods and fresh vegetables. Yum! Additoionally, the Simpsonville Farmers Market is open 8 a.m.-noon Saturdays at City Park on East Curtis Street. Carolina Panthers vs. Chicago Bears. The Panthers’ NFL preseason kicks off at Bank of America Stadium is at 8 p.m. tonight. The game will be televised on Panthers TV.
Greenville Heritage Main Street Fridays. Boiling Springs-based Tobacco Road will play from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at NOMA Square downtown Friday night as part of Main Street Fridays, absolutely free.

Bluegrass Summer Series. Fountain Inn’s 2013 Bluegrass Summer Series continues tonight with The Bluegrass Gentlemen. Bring your lawn chairs and get comfortable for the show, which begins at 7 p.m.
The Iron Horse, a miniature train replica of an early vintage steam locomotive, is in operation from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays and 1-6 p.m. Sundays at Heritage Park, 868 S.E. Main St., Simpsonville. Tickets are $2; children under 2 admitted free. Call 864-967-9533.
