Doctor's Office Donates to Ovarian Cancer Foundation

Karla Winningham (right),  a two-year ovarian cancer survivor and office manager for Dr. James T. Martin, Jr, OBGYN, presents a donation to Sue Henderlite (left), a 25-year ovarian cancer survivor and volunteer for the South Carolina Ovarian Cancer Foundation.  Dr. Martin’s practice raised $300 from sales of the ovarian cancer awareness t-shirt that Karla is wearing in the photo.  The money will fund research and education about ovarian cancer, which is often called the silent killer because many times there are no symptoms until the disease has progressed to an advanced stage.
