Grand Opening Set For Saint Leo University-Charleston
Public Invited To March 30 Celebration At Offices Of Nexton In Summerville

SUMMERVILLE – Saint Leo University is hosting a grand opening ceremony for its new Charleston Education Center location. The grand opening will be 1 – 3 p.m., Monday, March 30.
The new Charleston Education Center is in the master-planned Nexton community in the Offices of Nexton building, 201 Sigma Drive, Suite 200, Summerville, SC 29485. It will serve students from Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties.
The community is invited to tour the facility; meet with faculty, staff, and administration to learn more about Saint Leo; and enjoy light refreshments by Oscar’s of Summerville. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will include the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce and members of the Saint Leo community.

One of Saint Leo University’s core values is “community,” and the Charleston Education Center’s grand opening will help a local charity. Everyone is invited to donate to Meals on Wheels of Summerville, which provides meals for seniors and other vulnerable citizens. In addition to supplying one meal per day, volunteers check on the recipients to make sure they are secure in their living arrangement.

Donations of nonperishable foods will be collected at Saint Leo’s Charleston Education Center. Especially needed items include snack and breakfast items such as trail mix and oatmeal packets. Cash donations also will be accepted.
The new Charleston Education Center, at 9,000-square-feet, will provide students with more classrooms and interactive learning spaces, a dedicated computer lab, a learning resource center, a student lounge, and much more.
In addition to the grand opening ceremony, there will be a Meet-and-Greet event, hosted by Alumni Engagement. Alumni, their family and friends, current students, and others are invited to the event that will be 5:30 – 7 p.m., Monday, March 30. Register at https://eventactions.com/eareg.aspx?ea=Rsvp.
Saint Leo University first opened an education center in the Lowcountry in 2008, and is a nonprofit, private university. It is one of the largest Catholic universities in the United States with a residential campus located north of Tampa, FL; more than 30 education centers located in seven states; and online class offerings. The hallmarks of Saint Leo include its small class sizes and the personal attention students receive.
