Three Earthquakes Strike Around Summerville
Quakes reported outside Ridgeville, Knightsville and near Westcott.

The Middleton fault near Summerville shook three times Thursday and Friday, according to the U.S. Geological survey.
The first two occurred simultaneously at around 3:15 p.m. Thursday. One earthquake registered a 2.4 on the Richter scale and its epicenter was reported off of Wright Road near Highway 61 in the Givhans-Ridgeville area. The other quake registered a 2.5 on the Richter scale and its epicenter was reported near the Recycling Center in Knightsville.Â
The third earthquake occurred around 4:40 a.m. Friday. It registered a 2.4 magnitude and its epicenter was reported off of Dorchester Road near Westcott.
