Wine and Designs Expands into Summerville
Business partnering with Kids Art of Charleston to bring painting parties to town.

Wine and Design has expanded into the Town of Summerville through its recent partnership with Kids Art of Charleston.
Wine and Design on Wheels is a portable version of the brick-and-mortar painting studio that takes the painting party experience on the road.
Sarah Dubay, owner of Wine and Design in West Ashley, will be expanding her studio’s presence into Summerville with the support of Wine and Design Mount Pleasant owner and operator, Heather Speizman. Speizman has been operating Wine and Design in South Carolina since 2011 and is familiar with the Summerville area. She worked with the community from 2010-2011 and felt that the partnership with Kids Art of Charleston allowed her the unique opportunity to offer the town another painting studio.

“When Julianne [Julianne Woods, owner of Kids of Art Charleston] called me with the opportunity to partner with her studio in order to broaden our appeal, I just had to accept,” said Speizman. “We have been admiring each other’s business model for years and the timing was perfect for us to bring our two visions together to offer this wonderful experience to the community.”
Wine and Design provides the canvas, apron, paints, paintbrushes, and corkscrew and the attendees provide a beverage of his or her choosing. First-time painters, aspiring artists, or self-proclaimed pro’s browse the studio’s website to find a painting they would like to replicate. Sessions are led by local artists that guide participants through a carefully-orchestrated, step-by-step process that promises a finished “masterpiece” at the end of the two-hour session.

Dubay said that Wine and Design on Wheels in Summerville will cater solely to adults and will operate from the Kids Art of Charleston studio located at 717-7 Old Trolley Road, in between Ace Hardware and Biggby Coffee in Summerville. Painting classes will be held on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:00-8:00pm at prices starting at $35 per person. Interested painters can view paintings available and register for classes at wineanddesignus.com/Summerville.html. Dubay also said the ultimate purpose of Wine and Design on Wheels is to “bring the painting party to you”.
“We want to give everyone the chance to enjoy the fun and creativity of Wine and Design,” said Dubay. “Wine and Design on Wheels will be offering special nights out at restaurants and bars around Summerville. We can also bring painting parties to shopping malls, retirement communities, residences, businesses, or just about anywhere."
Dubay said that Wine and Design on Wheels is also an excellent way for non-profits or area civic groups to help raise money for their organizations or causes. Wine and Design provides the materials and a portion of the proceeds goes directly to the cause.
