Woman Assaulted Black Teen, Said He 'Didn't Belong' At Pool: Cops
The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office said the teen suffered an "unprovoked assault" and the woman was "clearly the aggressor."

SUMMERVILLE, SC — A South Carolina woman who reportedly told a black teen and his friends that they didn't belong at a community pool and then hit the teen in the chest was charged with assault, according to the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office. Stephanie Sebby Strempel, 38, was also charged with resisting arrest.
According to an incident report from the sheriff's office, the victim was staying at a friend's house on June 24 when the kids were invited by a family friend to the community pool. The teen told authorities that before he or his friends were able to get into the pool, Sebby-Strempel told them they didn't belong there and they had to leave.
The teen and his friends told authorities they were respectful and said "yes ma'am," before they began to leave the area, the incident report says.

According to the report, as the teen began to leave, Sebby-Strempel began calling the victim and his friends "punks" and used racial slurs. She then walked after the victim as he was leaving and hit him in the chest, the report says. She continued to follow the victim and hit him in the face at least twice, according to the incident report.
The incident was caught on camera and widely shared. According to BuzzFeed news, the 15-year-old victim began filming after Sebby-Strempel used racial slurs.

The sheriff's office noted in the incident report that, as the video shows, the victim did not react to the assault.
"However, it does show that suspect Sebby-Strempel attempted to illicit a response from the victim as he left," the report says. "The juvenile victim suffered an unprovoked assault by Sebby-Strempel. Sebby-Strempel is clearly the aggressor in the assault even going as far as to continue to assault the victim as he was walking away from her."
According to the report, the victim suffered minor chest pains from the blow to the chest.
Sebby-Strempel was arrested at her home on Monday and when authorities told her she was being arrested, she physically resisted arrest and pushed a detective into the wall, according to the incident report. The detective injured his knees as a result. She also bit another detective on his arm, the report says.
Sebby-Strempel was charged with third-degree assault and two counts of assaulting a police officer while resisting arrest. She was released on bond on Wednesday.
