3 Police Officers Hit and Injured Intentionally
3 Police officers were hit and injured intentionally by a crazed man. The officers were standing outside a convenient store at the time.
What is the world coming to? 3 Police officers were standing just outside a convenience store when suddenly a speeding car rammed all of the officers from behind, then crashing into the building.
PHOENIX (KSAZ)
It's hard to watch -- the surveillance video shows the moment a man drove his car towards three police officers at the QT. You can see his car speeding through the parking lot -- one of the officers went flying through the air.
For one of those officers, it was his first day on the job. Two of them ended up in a hospital. The third officer was able to arrest the suspect. They are all expected to be okay.
The suspect is now facing attempted murder and aggravated assault charges.
In the surveillance video's lower left corner, you can see a red car drive through. In the lower right corner, it picks up speed -- heading right towards the three officers.
"These officers could have easily been killed and I thank God that we are not planning three funerals right now," said Phoenix Police Chief Joe Yahner.

Now we all know that officer safety has been a hot topic as of late, and incidents like this will not stop anytime soon. Police officers every day risk life and limb to protect the very people that try to hurt and kill them. This problem with hatred for police is not just localized to Arizona, it is happening all over America, and yes including here in Greenville.
Officers across the upstate are aware of the risk in 2016 with being a police officer. Greenville and all of the upstate needs to rally around the officers and departments that help them, and let them know they are appreciated. Many times being a police officer is a thankless job, and now even more so.

So the question is, how do we stop this from happening? The only real answer to such question is being alert, prepared, and on guard. The idea that when you are wearing a uniform these days and you trust just anyone is safe, is crazy. You have to be aware of everyone, everything, and you have do things differently than if you were at home or going out with the family in plain clothes. Understand also, that when pulled over or coming into contact with officers, officers are a little more on edge, and that is ok. If you put on a uniform everyday and deal with the public, knowing that a target is on your back every day, you would be more on edge too.
