Addison Homes Wins Bridge Award for Green Building

Addison Homes, an Upstate builder specializing in green homes, won the 2014 Southern Home & Garden Bridge Award for Green Building.

Addison Homes, an Upstate builder specializing in sustainable new homes, won the 2014 Southern Home & Garden Bridge Award for Green Building.

Produced by the Home Builders Association of Greenville and the Sales & Marketing Council of the Upstate, the Bridge Awards program recognizes the best and brightest in the residential construction industry. Local builders and industry associates were honored in 36 categories such as New Homes, Remodels, Special Features, Sales & Marketing, and Builder of the Year during a gala presentation sponsored by GBS Building Supply.

“We are committed to outstanding craftsmanship, and it’s especially gratifying to have that recognized by our peers in the building industry,” says Addison Homes President Todd Usher, who builds 100% of his homes to Energy Star, National Green Building Standard and/or Department of Energy Zero Energy Ready Home standards. “Congratulations to all of our colleagues who also earned Bridge Awards for excellence.”

Addison Homes earned the Green Building Award for a home in Cobblestone, a residence that is equal parts form and function. It features an elegant design that matches the community’s upscale aesthetics, but that’s not all – this beautiful home is beautifully sustainable, too, blending traditional brick-and-stone style with all the smarts of the building industry’s toughest high-performance standards: Energy Star, Indoor airPlus, WaterSense, EarthCraft House and DOE Challenge Home (note: Challenge Home has since been renamed Zero Energy Ready Home). ydENhY47
