Annexation, Block Grant On Agenda For Greer Council Meeting
Regularly scheduled meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Greer City Council will consider two main agenda items tonight during its regularly scheduled monthly meeting.Â
Council will meet at chambers at 301 East Poinsett Street in Greer at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.Â
The first item on the agenda in new business is an ordinance that would annex 130 Mockingbird Lane into the city. Property owners Dean and Sharinda Niskaken petitioned the city for annexation and are also requesting the property to be zoned to R-15 (for residential, single family homes) once it is part of the city.Â

The other items on the agenda involve Greer's consideration and approval of allocations to the city from the federal government's Community Development Block Grant program.Â
Council will review the allocations to the city from the Greenville County CDBG funds, which come from a federal pot of nearly $5 billion that await allotment annually to various municipalities and governmental entities for a wide variety of community improvement programs, from public safety to infrastructure projects like water and sewer.Â
