BMW Reports Big September Sales

BMW Groups's U.S. sales report indicates a spike in September sales compared numbers recorded the same time last year.

Driven by a record month by it's MINI brand and the continued success of its X3 and X5 Series vehicles, BMW Group posted strong September domestic sales numbers, according to PRNewswire.com.

BMW Group's sales in the U.S. in the month of September totaled 26,660 vehicles this year, a 3.5 percent increase over last September's output. So far in 2012 the automaker has seen a 7.1 percent increase over U.S. sales compared to the first nine months of 2011.

The numbers are partially driven by a record month for its MINI brand, which includes the MINI roadster, hardtop and coupe. Some 4,889 MINI vehicles were sold in September in the U.S., representing a 22 percent increase over last September. It was the best September ever for the MINI brand.
