Bullying Reported On Greenville County School Bus

Video posted on Facebook of middle school child being beaten on school bus.

A middle school student in Greenville County transferred to another school after enduring bullying on the school bus going there, WYFF reports.

The first incident happened in December, and she even called the Greenville County School Bus Transportation Office to report that her son was being bullied on the bus.

"I called my son the next day and he told me the bus driver made a comment he knew I had called or someone had called but not to worry, and he was looking at the person who hit him and said I have your back," the child's mother told WYFF.

A video was later posted on Facebook of the child being beaten by three other students on the bus.

"There were two videos that I watched (with) him rolled up in a ball on the floor between two seats and they were laughing," said the mother.

The mother decided to press charges on three boys in the video.

Oby Lyles, communications director for the Greenville County School District released the following statement:

"Bullying is a very serious matter and we expect every employee to follow up on reported incidents.  In this case, the bus driver and bus transportation staff did not take appropriate action. Their failure to respond has been addressed. We cannot disclose the specific action since it is a personnel matter."
