Business Employee Shoots, Kills Man During Robbery Attempt

A suspect in an attempted armed robbery was shot and killed on Poinsett Highway.

An employee at a local automotive business shot and killed a man as he tried to rob the location.

Laura Campbell, spokesperson for the Greenville County Sheriff's Office, said that at 3 p.m. Thursday, deputies were dispatched to Precision Automotive at 1112 Poinsett Highway in reference to an armed robbery.

Two men reportedly entered the business, with at least one of them armed. An employee at Precision Automotive, was able to grab a gun himself and fire at the men. One of them was hit, and died at the scene.

The second suspect was apprehended at the incident location by Greenville County Sheriff’s Office deputies who responded to the scene, and has since been arrested for the offense.  Arrest warrants for that suspect are in the process of being obtained and are not immediately available.
