"We've had many new residents move into the City of Greer over the past two years who may not be familiar with Spring Cleaning Day. It's completely free and offered as a service to our residents." said Steve Grant, Director of Public Services. "It's also a quick and easy procedure. We have a group of workers at the gate to direct visitors where to drop off their specific items and another group to assist with heavy or bulky items. Feedback tells us this is one of the most popular events we offer annually."
Grant said the event also helps keep trash off roadsides and in ditches where such items as tires and mattresses are often dumped. By collecting items at the Recycling Center, the department keeps the City cleaner and is able to dispose of items properly.

An industrial shredder will again be on site to destroy out of date sensitive documents.
The Greer Police Department will also be on site to collect unneeded and expired prescription drugs for proper disposal.
Any questions about the free event may be directed to the Public Services Department at 848-2182.
