Clemson's Dabo Swinney, USC's Steve Spurrier Trade Barbs

Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney responded Wednesday with jabs of his own after University of South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier knocked the Tigers' stadium, WYFF reports. 

Spurrier, speaking at a press conference about his team's matchup with LSU on Saturday, took aim at Clemson's Memorial Stadium, which shares the nickname "Death Valley" with LSU. 

"Most of our guys have never been to Death Valley," Spurrier said Tuesday. "That is the Death Valley, isn't it? Or is there another one? There's two of them. That's right there's two Death Valleys. Was LSU the first one or the second one? They were first? Oh, okay." 

Swinney responded Wednesday night after the Tigers practiced. 

"It's amazing people are interested in Clemson so much, but for the record, the original Death Valley is right here. In case anybody has any doubts, it's right here. That's the original Death Valley," Swinney said.

"I can see where he might have a little confusion. Our guys have never been to USC (referencing the University of Southern California). California's a long way from here. So I can see where there would be a little confusion there. Got two Death Valleys and two USCs, but there's only one real one," Swinney added. 

It's not the first verbal volley between the two coaches.
