Eastside High Looking To Top Generals In This Year's Spirit Week

Each year, competes against Wade Hampton to see who can raise the most money for their respective charities. This year, Eastside selected Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics (FAST) as the beneficiary of their fundraising efforts. The winner of the contest will be announced at halftime of Friday's football game between the two cross-town rivals. 

According to Eastside's Spirit Week web site, the Spirit Week was created to provide students at the two schools with a positive outlet for their spirit of competition. 

"Eastside High School first opened its doors in 1970 when Wade Hampton High School could no longer accommodate the student body. The two schools quickly became rivals and eventually, the rivalry turned malicious. In 1979, Eastside Principal Brodie Bricker met with Wade Hampton’s principal to figure out a way to put an end to the deleterious behavior. Clearly ahead of their time, they decided to have the two schools compete for charity and thus, Spirit Week was born."

EHS Got Talent (4:30pm @Eastside High School)   Come check out the local talent and future stars at Eastside's Got Talent! Free entry
Spaghetti Dinner (6pm @Eastside High School) hosted by the Eastside Wrestling team!
Hypnotist (7pm @Eastside High School)   Come and be mesmerized by the amazing Dr. Holiday! $7
Haunted Hallway (8:30pm @Eastside High School)   If you're looking for a good fright, the Haunted Hallway will make your night! $3pp 
Cosmic Bowling (9:30pm @Wade Hampton Lanes)   It's out of this world!  Come to Wade Hampton Lanes dressed in your neon. $10pp (inc 2 games and shoes)

Thursday September 6th
Cow Kerplop (4pm @Eastside High School) Purchase your square anytime during Spirit Week and come watch the Cow Kerplop onhopefully your square!  Winner gets $1.00 for every square sold! $5 per square
Womanless (5pm @Eastside High School) Girls just wanna have fun, and so do the boys - see your favorite boys dressed as girls for a night. $5pp
Mexican Dinner (6:30pm @Eastside High School) Mr Salsa's is serving a Mexican Fiesta! $5pp
Dank Sinatra Concert (8pm @Eastside High School) Bring all of you friends for a live concert put on by Dank Sinatra!! You wont want to miss it!  www.danksinatramusic.com  $12pp

Friday September 7th
Let’s count our money!  
Tailgate (5pm @Eastside High School) with fan buses leaving from there to go to the game at Wade Hampton High.
