Eight Die on SC Roads During Thanksgiving Holiday

Eight people died in wrecks on South Carolina roads during the Thanksgiving holiday, which ran from 6 p.m. Wednesday to midnight Friday, according to the S.C. Department of Public Safety.

One other pedestrian was killed during the holiday weekend, as well one bicyclist.

Five of the eight holiday deaths happened Friday through Sunday, according to the Department of Public Safety. 

Through Sunday, a total of 744 highway deaths statewide, according to the statistics released by the SCDPS.
