Flooding Possible Over Next Several Hours

Keep an eye on the forecast and be aware of flood-prone areas nearby.

Over the next several hours there is a possibility of more heavy rainfall moving into Greenville County.

With more rain, there is a greater potential for flooding in the area. 

Remember flash flooding may occur in any area where large amounts of rainfall accumulate in a short period of time.

Officials with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Management Division ask that drivers use caution when traveling through low-lying areas 
where creeks, ponds and rivers may be at higher levels due to recent above normal rain fall.

Emergency officials warn against driving into into flooded areas, but said that if floodwaters rise around your car, abandon the car and move to higher ground. Do not walk through moving water.

If you must leave your home due to flooding make sure to take your medication and pets with you when you leave. If there is any possibility of flooding move to higher ground, do not wait to be told to leave your home. Be sure to alert a family member or a point of contact of where you will be if you must leave your 
home.
