A group of Furman University students will be working to clear the Brutontown cemetery Monday, Jan. 21 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr., Day.
All six of Furman’s fraternities, as well as other members of the student body, will be involved in the work. The event is sponsored by Furman’s Heller Service Corps.
The group will meet on campus outside the Burgess Theater in the Trone Student Center from 8-8:30 a.m. for a light breakfast. At 8:30 everyone will meet in the theater to hear about the history of Brutontown and why it was chosen as a community service project.Â
