Furman To Present Concert Jan. 18

"Songs and Dances" part of Furman's chamber music series.

Fourteen members of the Furman music faculty will present a concert Jan. 18 at 8 p.m. in Daniel Recital Hall on the Furman campus. A meet-and-greet reception in the Herring Music Pavilion on campus follows the performance.

“Songs and Dances” is part of the Furman Faculty Chamber Music Series and is open to the public. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for students.

Hosting the event will be Christopher Hutton, associate violoncello professor and coordinator of chamber music at Furman. He leads performers in a program of songs by John Dowland and Franz Schubert, Sergei Prokofiev’s “Quintet” based on ballet music,  a piece for bass clarinet, cello, piano, and percussion by David Lang, and a rousing piano duo by William Bolcom.
