Gallery: Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market Readying For Opening
The state's first Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market is taking shape in Greer.
The state's Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market is being readied for its opening in Greer in roughly a month.Â
Wal-Mart Neighborhood Markets focus on food and other daily needs instead of the broader appeal of Wal-Mart's "superstore" locations.
Kirsten Tucker, the manager at the Greer site, which is located at 805 West Wade Hampton Boulevard at Greer Plaza, said the 48,000 square-foot store will offer groceries and things "customers will need on a daily basis."Â

The store will be open 24 hours per day, seven days a week, and will offer a full line of groceries, such as meat, dairy, deli, produce and frozen foods, along with a full pharmacy. Â
Tucker said that she couldn't release the projected opening date for the location, but said it would likely be close to the end of February. The store is expected to employ 80 to 100 people. Tucker said there are still more than a dozen positions available.Â
