Greer Middle College Charter High Receives $25,000 Donation

Some of the cash will go toward the school's athletic program.

Greer Middle College Charter High School received a $25,000 check recently from the Sargent Foundation, the school announced last week.  The school will use part of the money to benefit its athletic department and growing sports teams.

Principal Bill Roach accepted the check for $25,000 from the Sargent Foundation, which was was founded in the 1950's by local business leaders Earl Wheaton and Eleanor Greene Sargent in order to donate money toward Greenville-area projects. The non-profit has donated to local interests such as Greenville Technical College, Miracle Hill, Bob Jones University and Gallery, Phillis Wheatley center, Pendelton House and funded the Greenville County Library’s Sargent branch.

Greer Middle College is made up of 368 students, grades 9-12 and graduated its first senior class just a year ago.
