Greer Middle College Standout Inks With Spartanburg Methodist

James Page becomes first Greer Middle College Charter High athlete to receive sports scholarship.

Greer Middle College Charter High School student James Page has signed a national letter of intent to run cross country and track for Spartanburg Methodist College. 

Page is the first GMCCHS athlete to receive a college sports scholarship. He has received All-Region and All-State recognition in cross country for the past two years, and he also holds several school records in track. 

Page joins a team at SMC that was the NJCAA national runner-up last year.

“I’m excited for James to be able to run for Coach Foley at SMC," said GMC Track Coach David Smith. "Coach Foley and I coached together at Blue Ridge, and I have great deal of respect for him as a coach. He is well known and respected in the running community and has consistently developed national level runners.”
