Greer Recycling Center To Reopen May 18

City Administrator Ed Driggers made the announcements at the May 12 Greer City Council Meeting.

ACE Environmental LLC, which has continued to collect recyclables curbside throughout the pandemic, will reopen the Recycling Center Monday morning for regular operations. The facility’s hours of operation are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. until noon on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays.

All City of Greer employees will return to their normal work schedules on May 18 in preparation for a reopening to the general public on May 26 following the Memorial Day holiday. Numerous safeguards will be put into place and social distancing measures will remain in place. Driggers said masks will not be mandatory but will be made available to those who desire one.

The City reopened Greer City Park, Center for the Arts Park, the Disc Golf Course at Century Park, Veterans Park, Victor Park walking trails and Greer Country Club with restrictions on May 6. Guests are asked to keep moving and social distancing restrictions remain in place by order of Gov. Henry McMaster, prohibiting gatherings, lingering and picnics. All playgrounds, restrooms, athletics fields, tennis courts and recreation centers remain closed.
