Greer Woman Gives Birth To Greenville County's First Baby Of 2013

For some, many New Year's Days probably run together as they look back at them. But Bridgette McJunkins of Greer will always remember Jan. 1, 2013.

McJunkins gave birth to her daughter, Lyla Mae McJunkins at 12:30 a.m. at Greenville Memorial Hospital, making her child the first baby born in Greenville County in 2013, GreerToday.com reports.

Bridgette said Lyla wasn't due until Jan. 4, so having the first baby of the year was a surprise. 

Lyla weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounches at birth, and measured 19.5 inches long.
