GSP Could See Flights To Mexico, Vegas

New locales on the horizon.

People looking to fly to locales like Las Vegas, Mexico and Miami may soon need to look no further than GSP, GreerToday reports.

Dave Edwards, President and CEO of GSP told commisioners Monday that Allegiant Air was considering renewing flights to Vegas out of GSP, a practice that had been cut out due to miscelleneous flight crew personnel and fuel cost factors.

The fall of 2013 or spring of 2014 may see the reinstallation of roundtrip flights to Vegas.

Meanwhile GSP may also soon be on the brink of opening up direct international flights, specifically trips to Mexico, which could occur by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, the merger of U.S. Airways and American Airlines could mean GSP may start offering nonstop flights to major destinations like Miami.

“There are no overlapping routes between American Airlines and US Airways out of GSP," Edwards said. "We do think there’s going to be an evaluation by the merged carrier about what they do with their hubs."
