Harmful and Safe Thanksgiving Leftovers for Dogs
Pumpkin, green beans and sweet potatoes are all OK in moderation.

Just one bite - one little bite. Pets are part of your family and you're certainly thankful for them, so they deserve just one little bite of Thanksgiving leftovers.Â
And let's get real: We've all fed our dogs at least some kind of "people food" without them getting sick. So what exactly is it safe to feed your dog?
Keep in mind that the safe foods are only in small amounts.Â

Safe to feed dogs:
- Green beans--Scout Finch, the ever hungry chihuahua in the photo, gets green beans often because they fill her up without adding extra calories.Â
- Cheese--Pawnation.com states that cheese is safe for dogs (and a God-send for getting them to swallow medicine.)
- Sweet potatoes--Scrape off the marshmellows and brown sugar and hand over the yams. Pawnation also states that sweet potatoes are OK for dogs.
- Carrots
- Pumpkin--Pawnation suggests getting a version of fresh pumpkin that has a lower sugar and fat content.Â
- Small amounts of turkey--Take Part notes that you should take the skin off the turkey before you give it to your animal.Â
