FirstLight HomeCare, provider of quality, affordable, non-medical in-home care for adults, is now open in Greenville, SC. FirstLight HomeCare of Greenville is owned and operated by local residents Jim Vaughn and Jenny Mitchell, who have a passion for providing members of the community with quality, trustworthy in-home care services. Located in Greenville, FirstLight will service residents of Central and Eastern Greenville County, including Greenville, Conestee, Greer and Taylors.
Prior to opening FirstLight of Greenville, Vaughn was the vice president and general manager of an electrical connector manufacturing company. He is also a patent holder and the winner of the Popular Mechanics Editors’ Choice Award. Vaughn has been a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for more than 20 years. His involvement in the organization as well as his personal experiences with caring for his own parents helped him to see the growing need for in-home, non-medical care options in the community.
Mitchell has spent the past eight years working as an Administrator for a skilled home health care provider. She has been a registered nurse for the past 24 years and has spent the past 15 years in the home health and hospice industry. Mitchell is also a member of the South Carolina Massage Therapy Board and previously served on the Laurens County Safe Home Board for two years. After seeing an increasing need to focus on one’s needs and health as it relates to their home setting, it became her desire to provide a high standard of care to community members while also allowing them to remain as independent as possible in their own homes.
