Man Arrested For Impersonating Officer
A 23-year-old Boiling Springs man is accused of pulling over a woman and claiming to be a police officer.

A 23-year-old man was arrested Friday for allegedly pulling over a woman on Interstate 385 and claiming to be a police officer.Â
Johnathan Bragg, public information officer for the Greenville Police Department, said that at roughly 11:30 p.m. Friday, Marcus Cheeks, of Boiling Springs, performed a forced traffic stop on a female driver in on 385 North near Haywood Road by pulling his vehicle in front of hers.Â
Cheeks reportedly demanded the driver get out of her car, claiming that he suspected her of driving under the influence.Â

When Greenville Police arrived, he presented what appeared to be a badge and falsely claimed that he was an officer for the Spartanburg Police Department. Further investigation concluded that he was not in fact a law enforcement officer
Cheeks was arrested on charges of driving under suspension and impersonating a police officer.Â
