Man With Near-Death Experience Story To Speak At Free Clinic Gala

Don Piper to speak to at fundraiser for Taylors Free Clinic.

The Taylors Free Clinic, which gives medical care to those who cannot afford it in the Taylors area, is holding a Spring Gala in April to raise funds for its operations.

The fundraising event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9p.m., April 30, at the T.D. Convention Center in Greenville.

The featured speaker for the gala will be Don Piper, whose spiritual 2004 book 90 Minutes In Heaven, made the New York Times' best seller list. Piper's book is based on his experience in 1989, when he was believed to have been killed in a violent car accident. A pastor who happened to be on the road, as told in Piper's book, prayed over Piper's lifeless body, and 90 minutes, later, he returned to life.

Piper went on to undergo more than a year of hospitalization, nearly three-dozen surgeries and years of painful therapy to recover from his extensive injuries. He now shares his lessons of answered prayer, miracles and other spiritual issues as a speaker.

He's appeared on NBC's Today Show, Dateline NBC, ABC's Nightline, FOX Network's Sean Hannity's America, and The O'Reilly Factor.
