More Than $25,000 In Property Stolen From Greenville Home

Thousands taken from rented residence.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is investigating the larceny of a houseful of property. 

Jonathan Smith, public information officer for the Greenville County Sheriff's Office, said someone took multiple items from a home at 23 Orlando Avenue near North Pleasantburg Drive in Greenville. 

The victim told officers that she was two months behind on her rent, and had not lived at the residence for about two months. She left all of her belongings in the home when she left, and stated that when she came back on Sept. 28 to check her mail and also to check on her things, she found that all ofher property, including two flat screen televisions, various jewelry and other household items had been taken. The items were valued at roughly $25,000.

The victim said she contacted her landlord to inquire if he had removed the items due to her being late on rent, but the landlord advised he had not removed anything from the home.  

Deputies on scene spoke with a neighbor, and were told that they saw a pickup truck at the house for two days removing items, and she thought the people were moving out.
