Newspaper Calling For Support For Lattimore
Spartanburg Herald-Journal is hoping its readers encourage injured running back Marcus Lattimore.

The Spartanburg Herald-Journal is hoping to encourage former Byrnes High standout and current University of South Carolina star Marcus Lattimore with the help of its readers.Â
Via its Facebook page, the paper called on its readers to inspire Lattimore, who recently suffered his second season-ending knee injury in two years:Â
"Both on and off the field, Marcus Lattimore has inspired people not only in his hometown, but across the state and the nation. Now, as he battles back from his second knee injury in two years, we'd like to give the community the chance to inspire him.
From 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday night, we're inviting you to bring signs showing your support for Marcus to the lobby of the Herald-Journal, at 189 W. Main St. in downtown Spartanburg. We will photograph you holding your sign.
On Thursday, the Herald-Journal will publish a "Get well, Marcus" poster. We will photograph fans holding the posters, or their own signs, at Byrnes' game against Wade Hampton Friday night.
Additionally, you can email your own photos or videos (if you use your phone for the video, please hold it horizontally) to shjphoto@gmail.com.
We will compile the photos and videos and present them to Marcus. We also will display them online at GoUpstate.com.
For questions, please call sports editor Bob Dalton at 562-7293."
