Plate 108 Teaching Greer How To 'Cook Smarter'
Upstate Nutrition opens up new business in the heart of Greer.
Plate 108 has the look and feel of a show you'd see on Food Network. Sleak countertops, complimented by shimmering stainless steal appliances greet those entering the new business on East Poinsett Street.Â
Plate 108, a cooking and entertainment venue operated by Upstate Nutrition, a business dedicated to providing dietary information and guidance, opened on Feb. 12, and is seeking to show its customers a good time while also enlightening them on food's delicious and healthy potential.Â
"The goal is to show people how to cook smarter," said Lorraine Taylor, director of business and marketing.Â

There are virtually no limits as to what Plate 108 can teach its customers. From healthy takes on wings for tailgating to creating your own infused olive oil, the staff of chefs and dieticians offer a variety of learning options.Â
The business, owend by Wendy Watkins, offers cooking classes and wellness programs that seek to let people know how to create food that is not only delicious, but healthy.Â

Those who take cooking classes there can even click on a link when they go back home that provides them with a recorded copy of the teaching session they just enjoyed.Â
"Everything we do is geared around being able to do this at home," said Taylor.
The class offerings are vast, from a diet review on the "paleo" diet held March 12, to a sports nutrition session on March 21.Â

Classes range from $20 to $80 per person.Â
