Proposed CVS Rezoning Voted Down

Planning commission again votes against proposed rezoning for a new CVS location.

The Greenville County Planning Commission voted for the second time Monday against the rezoning of a piece of property for the purpose of building a new CVS there.

The proposed CVS location at the intersection of Pelham and Hudson Roads would have been across the street from the Greenville Hospital System's Patewood Campus, but on Monday night, the planning commission voted 3-2 against rezoning the property from residential to commercial, WSPA reports.

The property is in a residential area and just outside the Greenville city limits. The county's comprehensive plan calls for properties in the area to be zoned as residential instead of commercial.

The planning commission had already voted down the proposal in its initial consideration of the request last week.

County council is likely to take up the commission's recommendation tonight during its 6 p.m. meeting.
