Record Voter Turnout Possible Tuesday
Absentee voters indicate a turnout rivaling 2008.

If absentee votes are any indication - and they often are - then Tuesday's general election could see a higher voter turnout than any in recent memory, GreenvilleOnline reports.Â
By Friday afternoon, nearly 330,000 absentee votes had been cast statewide, according to the South Carolina State Election Commission. That number indicates the state could very well be headed toward a record turnout Tuesday.Â
Some 10,000 absentee votes were cast in Greenville County, local election director Conway Belangia said.Â

The absentee voting record, set in 2008's historic election, was set at 342,000. But 2012's contests have a shot at that record as well, with absentee voting continuing through 5 p.m. Monday. Â
