The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is hoping the public can identify a man who ran off with a new cell phone in late August.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man who stole a brand new cell phone several weeks ago from a Greenville store.

On Aug. 29, an unknown black male entered the T-Mobile retail store located at 525 Congaree Road in Greenville with what appeared to be the intention of purchasing a new cell phone, Laura Campbell, spokesperson said.

While the clerk was scanning the cell phone at the register, the suspect grabbed the phone from the clerk and fled the store.
