The Clock On Wade Hampton To Close After Six Decades
Eatery will no longer operate at its famous location on the intersection of Wade Hampton Boulevard and Pleasantburg Drive.

When The Clock on Wade Hampton Boulevard opened its doors, Dwight Eisenhower was president, and Bob Jones University next door has just moved there six years before.Â
Now, after almost 60 years of providing sinfully good burgers to Greenville, The Clock is closing, multiple media outlets including Fox Carolina report.Â
The diner, whose name has now been shared by other local restaurants across the Upstate, will close its doors on March 31.Â

Co-Owner George Madeckas said he was forced to close the restaurant when the rental rate on the property rose, becoming prohibitively costly to continue operating at its famous location at the intersection of Wade Hampton Boulevard and Pleasantburg Drive.Â
