Two Taylors Area Students Win Advertising Awards

BJU students win ADDY Awards.

Bob Jones University announced Monday that three university students from the Greenville area were awarded the ADDY® Award for Creative Excellence by the Greenville chapter of the American Advertising Federation.

The three BJU students, from the Greenville area, who were awarded the ADDY®, are:

Ben Schipper (Greenville) – Gold award in Illustration

Kaylan Whitaker (Taylors) – Gold award in Illustration

Brady Hollenbeck (Taylors) – Silver award in Unconventional Advertising

“I've been especially impressed by the dedication of these young designers," said Joy Bopp, Chairman of the Division of Art and Design at BJU. "Our students are working from the heart, with guidance from the mind, which results in effective communication. I think that's what has been recognized.”

The ADDY® Awards Competition is a three-tiered national competition conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation.  The ADDY® Awards Competition is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition for both professional and student creative excellence.

Other BJU student ADDY® award winners, majoring in Graphic Design and Studio Art, are:

Melody Jung (Seoul, South Korea) – Gold award in Package Design

Sarah Hart (Cleveland Heights, OH) – Gold award in Package Design

Hannah Stanley (Three Springs, PA) – Silver award in Print Ad Campaign

Emma Klak (Milwaukee, WI) – Silver award in Package Design

Charis Marshall (Edwards, CA) – Silver award in Elements of Advertising: Poster

Ricky Altizer (Cypress, TX)  – Silver award in Elements of Advertising: Stationery Package

In addition to these awards, Melody Jung was selected as “Student Best in Show” and Ricky Altizer was the first college freshman to win a student ADDY® in Greenville since the student competition was instituted several years ago.

More than 10 BJU graduates working in the Greenville area won Gold and Silver awards in the professional division.
