Sioux Falls renews ambulance service contract with PatientCare
PatientCare's performance-based contract continues until May 2026
SIOUX Falls, S.D. (Dec. 19, 2018) – PatientCare, one of the nation’s leading ambulance service providers, has been awarded an extension to the ambulance service contract for the city of Sioux Falls. Along with this extension, the operation will be branded under the new name, PatientCare EMS.
The Sioux Falls City Council approved extending the ambulance service contractwith PatientCare for an additional six years on December 11, 2018. The new contract term ends on May 20, 2026.

PatientCare began providing ambulance services to Sioux Falls in May 21, 2015 (as Paramedics Plus) and itserves the city of Sioux Falls, which includes over 183,200 residents, and surrounding areas of Tea and Harrisburg. The ambulance provider, which receives more than 40 calls per day, operates with a fleet of 10 ambulances equipped with Lifepak 15 ECG devices, Stryker Power Stretchers and Panasonic Tough Book patient care reporting devices.
As with the current performance-based contract, PatientCare must arrive at a priority one emergency anywhere in the city in less than nine minutes at least 90 percent of the time. PatientCare consistently exceeds performance expectations, and has arrived on the scene within nine minutes, 99.59 percent of the time, on average over the past year.

The ambulance provider, who’s parent company, Paramedics Plus, LLC, changed its name in March 2018 to PatientCare as part of the acquisition by A&M Capital Partners, LP, has started the process of operating under its new brand in Sioux Falls. Ambulances will be re-wrapped with the PatientCare EMS logo and the company has updated its social media accounts. PatientCare plans to phase the timing over several months to maintain quick response times and high levels of care.
“Residents may see ambulances with either brand on the road over the coming months,” said Michael Bureau, chief operating officer of PatientCare in Sioux Falls. “But it’s the same highly skilled paramedics and EMTs who are responding to their emergencies and we will continue providing the same quality service”
