Update: All Kids In The Sioux Falls School District Will Receive Meals At No Cost Through June 30
Students must have funds to purchase a second breakfast or lunch, a second carton of milk, or a la carte items.

October 16, 2020
The Sioux Falls Public Schools has been accepted into a program by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that allows ALL children in the District, ages 1 to 18, to receive meals at no cost to them. Both breakfast and lunch will be provided free with no income guidelines. If a preschool-aged child (1-5) is not currently attending schools, meals can be ordered by calling (605) 367-7618 by 8 am. This program is retroactively in effect from September 1, 2020, and carries through June 30, 2021.

Any meal purchased since the beginning of September will be credited back and funds placed in the student account for future use. If you want to request a refund (in the form of a paper check) call the Child Nutrition Office at (605) 367-7962. Only breakfast and lunch meals are free. Any second milk, a second meal, or a la carte items will NOT be free. Students must have funds to purchase these items. My School Bucks will be turned back on November 1, 2020, for anyone wishing to make deposits for the extra items.
We encourage all families to continue to submit free and reduced meal applications! This application is necessary to access free bus passes, musical instruments, reduced fees in Kids Inc., summer school, and AP classes. Further, filling out an application this year allows a free/reduced status to carry over into the next school year through the end of September. Without an application this year, students who may qualify will start the 2021-22 school year as a full-pay student.
