9 Tennesseans Die From Flu

Eight children and one woman have died from the flu, the Tennessee Department of Health says.

NASHVILLE, TN -- The death toll from this season's flu outbreak in Tennessee is now nine, according to the state's health department.

Eight children and one woman, who was pregnant, have died from the virus in Tennessee in the 2017-18 flu season, according to updated statistics issued Thursday.

"We continue to send our deepest condolences to the families who have lost a loved one due to influenza," the department said in a release.
