As is true any time remains are discovered in the largely rural county northwest of Nashville, the discovery raised the possibility of closing the case of Leanne Green, a high school junior who went missing in 1987. She was riding with her brother when the car ran out of gas. Her brother left to find help and returned to find Leanne missing with her purse still in the car.
“Almost 32 years now,” Sheriff Jeff Bledsoe told WSMV. “There is a handful that sticks with you or in your mind and in your heart. Leanne Greene is one of them. We had 31 years last month, last minute things that were in the middle of that. We have been unable to account for her.”
