Joe Clyde Daniels' Mother Arrested

The mother of Joe Clyde Daniels is charged with aggravated child neglect as the search for the body of the 5-year-old continues.

CHARLOTTE, TN -- As the search for the body of 5-year-old Joe Clyde Daniels continues, his mother was arrested overnight, charged with aggravated child neglect.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Krystal Nicole Daniels was arrested overnight as part of the investigation into her son's murder. She is in the Dickson County Jail with bail set at $1 million.

According to an affidavit, Krystal Daniels said she was in the home when her husband, Joe Daniels, beat their son to death.

"Krystal Daniels failed to report the injuries, abuse, and/or homicide despite multiple opportunities. Krystal Daniels took active steps to obfuscate the abuse and homicide of Joe Clyde Daniels," according to the affidavit filed Tuesday morning.

Joe Daniels was arrested Saturday, charged with killing the couple's son, hiding his body and then reporting the boy missing, leading to a massive search in the rural county northwest of Nashville.

Joe Clyde was reported missing by his parents on Wednesday morning. Hundreds of volunteers searched along with law enforcement officials for the boy, who was autistic and non-verbal. The search spanned three days.

Joe Daniels is accused of beating his son to death before hiding the body, which has still not been located. The TBI said he confessed to the murder.
