'None Have Panned Out': Joe Clyde Daniels Search Presses On

Joe Clyde Daniels' father has offered investigators several locations of the little boy's body, but he's still missing.

CHARLOTTE, TN -- The search for the body of Joe Clyde Daniels is now into its second month and though the boy's father has given investigators several locations of the body, the 5-year-old's body is still missing.

The little boy was reported missing by his parents from their home in rural Dickson County northwest of Nashville the morning of April 4, launching a massive search utilizing hundreds of volunteers and law enforcement officers. The boy's father, Joe Daniels, was arrested April 7, charged with beating his son to death and hiding his body. His mother, Krystal Daniels, was arrested two days later, charged with aggravated child neglect.

Searchers are focusing on a 5 square-mile area and triaging tips as they come in.

NewsChannel 5 reports that Joe Daniels' confession is essentially the only evidence prosecutors have and that without a body, murder could be difficult to prove, particularly if Daniels recants his confession.

The Danielses are due in court June 1.
