Teens Arrested In Antioch Robbery Spree

La Vergne Police arrested two teenagers in connection with an Antioch shooting and a string of robberies.

ANTIOCH, TN -- La Vergne Police arrested two teens Saturday night following a shooting and a string of robberies in Antioch.

One person was wounded in a shooting on Cloudfalls Trace after struggling with two people who were trying to rob him around 9 p.m. Saturday. That person is in stable condition, Metro Police said.

Witnesses told police the thieves fled in a black Chevrolet Equinox, which officers tried to pull over near the Murfreesboro Pike-Couchville Pike intersection. The SUV sped away but was pulled over in La Vergne where the driver, 19-year-old Jannette Esquivel and her passenger, 17-year-old Aaron Trejo, were arrested. A third person ran from the scene.

According to police, Esquivel admitted her involvement in the Cloudfalls Trace robbery and four other holdups that occurred outside houses on Waikiki Boulevard, Piccadilly Row, Murfreesboro Pike and Terrapin Trace.

Trejo refused to be interviewed.

Esquivel is charged with seven counts of aggravated robbery and one count of especially aggravated robbery.

Trejo os charged in juvenile court with three counts of aggravated robbery and one count of especially aggravated robbery.
